THEMA Literary Journal

You may have found this page by reading my blog, The Story of THEMA, or maybe you just saw the THEMA tab and decided to explore. However you got here, I’m happy you found this page.

THEMA is a New Orleans-based, theme-related literary journal. I’m proud to be a Contributing Member, a special membership category limited to authors who have been published at least twice in THEMA. Below you’ll find links to the issues of THEMA my stories have appeared in; back issues of THEMA are available on their website.

Virginia's Office

Virginia Howard, editor of THEMA, at work in her temporary office at Seven Oaks Plantation Bed & Breakfast in Kenner, La.

In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina forced Virginia Howard, editor of THEMA, to evacuate New Orleans. She found lodging, comfort and kindness at Seven Oaks Plantation Bed & Breakfast in Kenner, La.

I had the privilege of interviewing Virginia Howard and hearing her story. The article later appeared in the June 2006 issue of The Writer MagazineRead The Writer: THEMA.
